Propulsion

Each boot contains two magnetically powered turbines that compress ambient air into incandescence to generate thrust. The range Iron man can travel is only limited by his speeds: about 1,800 miles (carrying a 100% load maximum of 2,700 lbs.) to 3,500 miles (with a 50% load). Unloaded, Iron Man can reach altitudes of 70,000 feet and at a full load, can reach up to 8,000 feet. The effective speed is really limited by the tolerance of the pilot to G-Force. 400 mph is considered the “maximum allowable cruising speed.” The suit is also equipped with laser gyroscoping movement sensor, LORAN C as technological mutual/redundant navigational aids, as well as the appropriate GPS tracking systems, linking into the first available locational satellite compatible with the suit's system.
