Sailor Poseidon

Fuku:

Colors: Primary is Aquamarine, secondary is Pale Turquoise. (Unlike Neptunes rebellious Outer fuku that uses secondary color for some of the accessories, Maya's is regulation in the Primary/Secondary department.)
Tiara: Golden, with an aquamarine heart in it.
Choker: Aquamarine, with a golden heart in the center.
Earrings: Black pearl studs, about 1/2" in diameter.
Collar: Pale Turquoise
Gloves: The white cloth of the gloves stops abruptly an inch before the wrist on the back of the hands, at the wrist on the bottom, and about 1/2 an inch beyond the wrist at the sides. Aquamarine lacings, similar to those extending from her sandals, crisscross from the side extensions, reaching about 2/3 of the way up her forearm, where they wrap around in a circle, with no dangling sections visible. Center Bow: Aquamarine, clasped by a golden star in the center.
Skirt: Pale turquoise
Back Bows: Aquamarine
Shoes: Aquamarine sandals, with the crisscrossing laces continuing about 2/3 of the way up her calves.

Symbol: Curved-tined trident

Challenge Phrase: "Mariner of a New Age, I am Sailor Poseidon" (She's trying to come up with a better one, but Saiyuri keeps making silly suggestions, so it's getting nowhere.)

Henshin Phrase: Poseidon Star power, make up!

Henshin Locket: The standard Iopan locket in design, with aquamarine for the star at the center and the rim, and pale turquoise for the center jewel and the main heart/body. Her curved-tined trident rests under the jewel.

Henshin:
By definition, her henshin begins when she opens her locket and starts her henshin phrase. As she utters her phrase, she throws out her left arm in front of her, locket in hand, and begins to spin in that direction, her clothes beginning to dissolve. The ground at her feet breaks and disappears, leaving her spinning upon the surf-whitened water often found near the shore. Clouds gather in the background, creating a great sea-storm behind her. After three revolutions, her toes are occluded by a small ring of white water, and the storm behind her has surged to the point where a veritable wall of water is cresting over her, defying the lightning and winds as it curls to descend upon her. At this point her rotation stops, and she rises onto her toes, back arched, arms swept back, much like the prow decoration of a ship (or a dashboard ornament). She is in the full sparkly henshin effect, and the storm, surging tides and wave all, for a brief moment, seem as if to fall silent. In this moment of calm, the ocean beneath her falls still, literally becoming as a mirror, reflecting below what is above. Then the impending tsunami reasserts itself and crashes down over her. She is unharmed, but, in the waves wake, clothed in her fuku. At the end of her henshin she is standing with her left side facing slightly forward, mirror in her right hand, left arm at a midbody guard.

Weapon: Deep Aqua Mirror
The deep Aqua Mirror is that most intimidating of all possible weapons... a mirror. Outside of its terribly awesome abilities to check makeup in battlefield conditions and demonstrate how truly atrocious an enemy's fashion sense is, it is actually a magical mirror. This means that it is supernaturally durable, always a plus in the event you need to bonk someone on the head with it. Beyond even that, it possesses divinatory abilities. By concentrating upon the surface of the mirror, she can scry, allowing her to see, as if from an overhead view, the location of her choice. It is quickest and most effective to gaze at her own location, in which case it is like an overhead map of the area, complete with keynotes. That is, little markers identify friend from foe on the images seen, and illusions are translucent. Additionally, important or target items have their own highlighting.

It is possible to scry upon another area, but that quickly becomes limited. It is easier to view an are where there is familiarity, either because of her presence, or past presence, or because someone or something that is very close to her is there. That is, she could try to find the location of Pandia, or any of the Iopan senshi, or of her father, but not just someone she's met. It is also possible to raise her vantage, if she is in an open area, and choose another spot to focus on. This allows her to get overheads of open areas, such as an outdoor battlefield, but cannot penetrate any barrier, be it roof or even tent. Since it is always overhead, the "sensing effect" cannot troll for windows to look in, etc. Should the Iopans get into a large scale war, this feature is a great tactical advantage.

The activation phrase for the scrying ability is "Submarine Tidal Visionary". It takes very little energy at all to use, unless she's casting out her mind trying to find someone, in which case it can become progressively draining as she searches. The vantage point is, at the base, treated as someone looking down from about 30' up, but with crystal clarity at that distance. The 30' applies even if there is a roof over her head at less than that distance, but in such a case she cannot see ABOVE the roof of where she is, and cannot raise the vantage point. From the base vantage, the scrying is a 30' radius circle about her. If there is not a roof blocking it, the sensing point may be raised, and may "focus" upon any point in its area, descending as if just over that. Any opaque barrier, including clouds, that is not illusory will block passage of the sensing point, but it can penetrate illusions and anything that can be seen through. She can maintain this effect while walking or talking with no appreciable problem, and she can "lock" the view if she feels the need to perform actions such as fighting. If the mirror is unduly disturbed during that time, however, perhaps from taking a blow or from being in her hand when she gets blasted into a wall, it ripple over and returns to a normal mirror. If she has not locked the image, any blow to her concentration risks ending the scrying with a ripple, but she has a chance of holding on to the effect even if the mirror is struck. Finally, magical wards against scrying produce a ripple across the mirror, blocking its ability, although it is likely that assistance from multiple senshi would get enough of a lock to Sailor Teleport there.

The Deep Aqua Mirror has other powers, as yet undiscovered, including the ability to teleport the user and companions to the point being scried, or to actively attempt to disrupt illusions, but the only one she is adept enough to use is the scrying.

Attack: SqaushySquishyJellyfishy!
This was her ChibiPoseidon attack, and she's a little embarassed about it. Essentially, she puts her hands together at the wrist, cupping them and pointing the cup at her opponent. A luminous force begins to grow there, and then erupts forth as a glowing jellyfish. Erupts might, of course, be an exaggeration, as the jellyfish moves at the speed of a fairly fast turtle, which is to say about brisk walk for a human. It will, however, adamantly pursue the person it was aimed at until it is destroyed or until she dehenshins. It locks on to the target when fired, allowing it to track even if the person goes out of sight. If a person goes on the other side of a door, it will hover there, tendrils wriggling, waiting for them to come out, but if they maneuver around, it is essentially able to sense that and wriggle towards their new position. This will even track a target covered by an illusion, or shapechanged, as long as their aura remains essentially the same. It has a range of 1 mile, so teleporting far enough away causes it to disperse, as it can no longer sense the target, as would anything that totally cloaks the spirit. Similarly, henshining or dehenshining on the part of the target confuses it, and disrupts it.

The jellyfish is about as tough as glass, in it's mobile state, making it fairly easy to shatter, even by a normal person, but it is transparent to most forms of energy other than fire, which evaporates it. If it DOES manage to make it to its target, it hits with a noticeable squish, and then the tendrils quickly wrap the target up, stretching to cover them from head to toe in, essentially, fiberglass twine chysalis. Like the jellyfish, this is transparent to most non-fire energies, but it's a bit more durable, about the equivalent of fine silk chords. It resists being torn very well, but can be sliced easily from the outside, or with difficulty from the inside, providing one has a sharp object at the ready. These chords last until cut, burnt, or otherwise destroyed, subject to two caveats. First, they disappear if she dehenshins, and secondly, she cannot have more than 3 (an upgrade from her original 1) chrysali in existence at one.

This power is not particularly taxing to use, but it's not particularly dignified either. She can use it three times without overly fatiguing her, and she recuperates the energy quickly if she rests a little bit. She can have more than one jellyfish swimming around, but no more than one can be locked on to a single target, except under one circumstance. Near the end of her tenure as ChibiPoseidon, she discovered she could do an upgraded version of this power, SqaushySquishyJellyfishySWARM!. This is like the normal except about half a dozen of the creatures burst forth in rapid succession, fan out, and dive straight towards the target. Once again, Burst and Dive are something of an exaggeration, but this time it's the equivalnet of a running person, making it a little better. Unfortunately, the combined tracking is not quite as good, and if they don't hit within about 30 seconds of chase, they give up and dissipate. Any previous chrysali or jellyfish extant disappear, and the jellyfish, if they hit, make upt to a total of three layers of chrysalis on the target.

Attack: Tidal Maelstrom Symphony!
Poseidon gathers her will and begins to sing out her attack phrase. Tidal is, essentially, a capella, but sounds of rushing water, from waterfalls to surging waves, form an eerie accompaniment to Maelstrom, and sirenlike voices join in on Symphony. As she's calling out her attack name, she's using her left arm to draw a wide arc in front of her. It starts with left arm, elbow before her, arm across her chest, while she says Tidal. At this point, a swirling mass of water, halfway between a whirlpool and a ball (hereafter to be called the whirlball) appears upon her index and middle finger, which are extended whil her other fingers are curled back. During Maelstrom, her arm rises above her head, and the whirlball leaves a trail of raging white surf. It continues full arc until it is down at her side, at the end of a strange curve of rapids. As she begins to sing the word Symphony, the water itself erupts with siren song, and she lets the whirlball fall into her left palm as she brings it up before her mouth. Her head leans back and her eyes close as she releases the power.

This release comes in the form of a shimmering cone of raw tidal power. She can target within about 100 yards, with a minimum effect width of her body (in which case it's less a cone and more a line) and a maximum width of 1/10th the distance. (10 yards at full extension). The minimum height of the effect is equivalent to about 2', centered on her heart, but it can also be extended from, effectively, a pie-wedge to a full cone, allowing it to reach a height equal to its potential width. Objects and creatures that are engulfed by or contacted by the effect are assaulted by rapidly shifting tidal forces and pressures. This will tend to rip things, and lower level creatures, apart, much as if they were in the path of a force of nature grabbing, twisting, and pulling in dozens of directions at once. Even more powerful creatures are likely to be damaged and disoriented. Force fields tend to take the brunt of the attack, usually protecting the person behind them from most or all harm, but the tend to be ripped asunder in the process. Strong material objects can likewise absorb the impact, sparing creatures behind them from most or all of the direct damage. Still, the best defense is to not be there.

This is not a subtle power, but it is a draining one. She can perform this once in a battle, and she will be heavily winded. If she tried dropping a second one, she would drop herself, whether she managed to pull it off or not, and the latter is far more likely. It is not a power to be used indiscriminately, but rather to weaken a major boss and set them up for Pandia, to clear out armies of flunkies, to remove barricades or emplacements, or other tactical purposes.

Guardian: Saiyuri - Saiyuri is an emmisary from the planet Mermaid, a Siren, which translates to a normal form that is a winged mermaid of about 1' length. Her wings have an ititally mothlike appearance, but one soon sees the reinforcing spines, much like a fishes fin, that support them. In fact, siren wings evolved from fins. The membranes between the spines are a nearly transparent sky blue, while her piscine lower body has a dark silver-blue scaling on a long, slender tail. Similar dark blue/silver scaling occurs on her hands, which have a small fin extending from the wrist, but the scaling ends about a third of the way up the forearm. Like her wings, her hair is a light sky blue, and quite fine, to the point where, unless wet, it's always a fluffy cloud about her head whenever there's any breeze, including that produced by her wings.

Unlike many of the guardians who went to Iopa for adventure, Saiyuri's not exactly the most danger loving. Truthfully, she was hoping for a fairly quiet, but glamorous, tour of duty. The Galactic Pirates AND the Doitra coming at the same time is a nightmare for her. By preference, she hangs around, preens, tells silly jokes, snacks on sweets (counting on her alien physiology to keep her slender), listens to gossip, and tries to match fashion tips to her scales. In fact, she often paints her scales, giving them a fancy trim. She obtained her position partly due to her family's fairly high standing on her world and to the perceived match between her and Maya's public face.

Despite her general non-combativeness, she will do her duty, even in a crisis, and tries her best to tend to her ward. She might whine, cry, even panic, but she will stay the course. Still, she's happiest to stay home, and only argues to go along if she feels she's really needed, or there's a good sale nearby.
